Medclot Hemostatic Hemorrhage Stopping Pad is designed to rapidly control bleeding from traumatic injuries. Applied with manual pressure, this hemostatic pad helps save lives by inducing clotting within minutes. It is suitable for use in steps “Massive Hemorrhage (M)” and “Circulation (C)” within the TCCC MARCH PAWS index. Medclot is a specialized hemostatic dressing that helps stop bleeding. Instead of animal or human-derived proteins and allergens like chitosan, it contains kaolin and sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). It accelerates clotting upon contact with blood, providing much faster results than standard gauze. For application, simply place the pad over the wound and apply direct pressure. According to the manufacturer, blood clotting can occur within 5 minutes. This feature significantly increases the chances of survival for the injured person, especially in cases of stab wounds, gunshot wounds, and serious accidents, until they reach the hospital.
